Wheelchair Ramp and Stairs For Rock County Historical Society

This upgraded entrance to the Rock County Historical Society used a powder coated APEX ramp and step system to add curb appeal to their newest project.

When the Rock County Historical Society began working to restore the Lincoln-Tallman House in Janesville, WI, their first step was giving the outside of the facility a compliant ADA ramp that would be an exterior signal to the community that things were happening at the historic home. The Lincoln-Tallman House, built and constructed by the Tallman family in 1857, was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1970 because the house once hosted Abraham Lincoln as an overnight guest in 1859.

The Rock County Historical Society, chose to use a powder coated APEX ramp system on the outside of the house to signal to the local community that things were happening at the historic home and build community support for the museum that the Rock County Historical Society developing. Now that the museum is complete, the community has safe and compliant access into the facility with the Upside APEX ramp and step system.
