The Upside Story How we started and what drives us It is more than just a ramp to Upside Innovations’ President, Kevin Sharp. After seeing his polio-disabled grandfather constantly struggle to gain access to everyday places, Kevin knew he had to do something about it. In 2009, he launched Upside Innovations with a dream to build a better aluminum ramp system. Since the beginning, Upside’s focus has been to fill a gap in the market by providing a high-quality, attractive ramp system while providing world-class service to the industry. In the years since Upside started, we have learned that honesty and the willingness to solve our customer’s issues as if they were our own are the two characteristics that give our customers the Upside experience. Our best salespeople are the customers who have experienced our service first hand. We have made a great effort to build this reputation and understand that it can be ruined quickly if we do not keep it central to our core truths. We take on our customer’s issues as if they were our own. We recognize that you have many choices when finding the right company to work with on your next project. We encourage you to contact other companies, talk to them about their core values, and ask them to tell you stories about when they met and failed those standards and how they responded. Then give us a call and ask us the same questions. We are confident that you will be impressed with our candor and, most importantly, the stories that have made our company what it is today. Upside Innovation is an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer. Explore your career opportunities Our Process Upside believes in managing the entire lifecycle of a project. This is not an easy business, but we feel that by managing the project from start to product installation, we can deliver the best solutions for our customers. Project Definition & Quotation The Upside engineering and sales team will gather site-specific information from you, including building dimensions and existing obstacles. We like being involved with the project early so that we can provide you with ways to keep the overall costs down and maintain your project timeline. Once we have determined the project’s requirements, we will put together a comprehensive quote. A quotation is typically completed within 24 hours of the request. Design & Development Once you approve the project and quote, our engineers will create the drawing package for your acceptance. If the project includes a custom product, our team will design the product in 3-D CAD and will provide you with a series of drawings for review. Engineering calculations can be included when required. Once the design or layout drawing is approved, our shop will begin moving forward with fabrication. Fabrication Our engineers provide production fabrication drawings to our production team as we start building your product. The material moves pretty quickly through our machining area and is staged for welding. Our welders are all trained in the Upside methodology of welding. We have spent much time determining the best welder settings to create a high-quality weld based on the base metals that we are connecting. Our attention to detail guarantees that we deliver a high-quality product every time. Project Delivery & Installation When you receive your product, whether from a third-party freight company or from one of our installation teams, you will receive everything that you need to assemble the product. Our professional installers work with your project site manager to deliver the best service that we can. They will work efficiently around your schedule, and we are confident that we will meet your project deadlines and requirements.
