Two Connected Canopies and A Wheelchair Ramp

The APEX walkway canopy system was used to connect the modular classrooms with the brick and mortar school.

A school with some existing modular classrooms contacted Upside Innovations about adding an APEX walkway canopy system over the existing wooden ramp and all the way to the entrance of the school. The Upside team installed a fully aluminum solution over top of the a wheelchair ramp to keep that existing ramp safe and dry and included a second tier canopy that tied into the outer school wall and over to the entrance. The APEX canopy system includes fully supported gutter systems that drain through the 4" square tube posts to direct water away from the walking area.

With a modular design, all walkway canopies have built-in gutters. Using canopy posts as downspouts, water drains from post outlets, smartly channeling water away from the walkway. An integrated deflector located in the post outlet controls the water flow.
