Our welds are spaced out which means that the seam between the tread and stair is not completely welded. This side view of the step shows where we weld the step tread to the stringer, as marked by the orange strips:

Our solid step tread is made from a knurled extrusion that is slip-resistant and has channels for water to run off the sides and through the spaces between welds, as described above.

Below is what the final product looks like. The welds are not visible, and the ADA step meets the load capacity requirements.
